We need to enforce existing laws (no camping, pollution, etc) and encourage people to use existing services to better their lives. Sutter County needs to dedicate staff (Sheriff or Code Enforcement) with the assigned duty of being a constant presence at homeless camps. This staff should be responsible for enforcing laws and encouraging people to accept the help and services they need. Living in our public spaces and preying on our community can no longer be an option. People should be required to either accept help or move along.
